Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a versatile alternative to veneers and can be used as a restorative treatment for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or misaligned.

The dental bonding process begins by lightly etching the tooth’s surface and applying a bonding liquid. After the liquid sets, the dentist applies a plastic resin and carefully sculpts it into the desired shape. Once hardened, the resin is trimmed, smoothed, and polished to create a natural-looking finish.

The bonding procedure is typically completed in a single office visit and can significantly enhance the appearance of a tooth. However, the plastic resin used in bonding is not as durable as natural tooth enamel, making it more prone to staining, chipping, or breaking. On average, dental bonding lasts about three to five years before it may require repair.
